For the historically-minded, this area was part of the Duke of Wellington's Defence Lines (Linhas de Torres), a chain of 150 fortresses created during the Peninsular War and successfully used to force Napoleon's army back to Spain
The house is set in grounds of about 2000m2 shared with the Portuguese owner's property, which is occupied only at weekends and during which your privacy is assured. There is a garden with grassed volleyball pitch, terrace with barbecue and covered pool available for your exclusive use whilst you are in residence
Inside: living/dining room with fireplace and TV, fully-equipped kitchen, 2 twin bedrooms, bathroom with separate shower; on upper floor sitting room with TV and bedsofa for 2 extra people
Ideal for peaceful holiday in tranquil countryside. For excursions Torres Vedras is about 15km east and Ericeira 20km south, but the main attractions must be the quieter beaches and spectacular coastline
Linen (except beach/pool towels) provided. Maid service weekly and weekly linen change. Extra beds for children, cot, electric heaters and firewood available. Parking area. Preferred arrival Saturday 1600, depart 1000. Other days by arrangement. Minimum booking 3 nights (7 nights July/August)
